Dave a Senior Nurse and Paramedic founded RCMS Ltd in 2001 with a belief that the industry lacked quality training and that training should be delivered by healthcare professionals who are experts in their field. His vision has gone from strength to strength and RCMS Ltd are a nationwide provider to both Independent and NHS health care organisations – (See the banner on our home page to give you an idea of the RCMS client base).
His mission has always been, and will continue to be, that education should be delivered in such a way as to empower the learner. RCMS prides itself on its reputation and friendly approach.
Dave said “I am very proud of where we are today and the reputation that we have achieved. This is down in no small part to our amazing team.”
Matt
RN, ILSi, BA Hons HR/Training
Instructor/Operations Manager
As Operations Manager, Matt works very closely with Dave, to ensure the smooth day to day running of the business.
Matt, a Registered Nurse, has worked within the hospital and community settings. His previous positions include working as a Senior Nurse in A&E specialising in the assessment & management of patients’ in mental health crisis. More recently, Matt’s clinical duties, as Clinician of the day, have been leading the team in monitoring and escalating the deteriorating COVID patient to ensure they are managed appropriately.
Matt also has a Degree in HR/Training and a real eye for detail. He prides himself on very high standards and firmly believes in quality education and ‘getting it right’. In addition, Matt spent some time in aviation as cabin crew. This provided an opportunity to work in an industry that really believes in the ‘Human Factors’ model and has enhanced his ability to educate others.
Matt said he is “really pleased to be part of the RCMS team, a team that prides itself on empowering individuals to reach their full potential”.
Janet
RN, ALSi, APLSi, GICi, BA Education & Training
Course Director
Janet started her career in intensive care nursing and has been involved in resuscitation education since the 1990’s.
She was Lead Resuscitation Officer for a large NHS Trust and has extensive experience managing cardiac arrests and the deteriorating patient in all age groups and across all specialities.
Janet said “I am passionate about the delivery of high quality education and working with like minded colleagues who share that same passion and commitment. It’s a great privilege to work with RCMS Ltd and their clients”
Mandy
RN, NMP, PGCEd, MClinRes, DProf, ILSi
Resuscitation Officer
Mandy started her nursing career in A&E and has been involved in resuscitation education since the 1990’s.
She was Lead Resuscitation Officer for a large NHS Trust and has a vast amount of experience in managing cardiac arrests.
Mandy’s special interest is primary care resuscitation education and she completed her doctorate in 2022.
Mandy said “I feel proud and privileged to be part of this excellent RCMS team, delivering high quality resuscitation education to clients throughout the UK”.
Dawn
Paramedic (Bsc Hons), ALSi, PILSi
Resuscitation Officer
Dawn is a Paramedic and has worked extensively in the NHS, primarily in pre-hospital roles. She divides her work time between working operationally for the ambulance service and delivering high quality resuscitation training.
Dawn said “I enjoy working as part of the team at RCMS and feel very fortunate to work with a really great bunch of people. All our clients really appreciate our high quality resuscitation training delivered in a friendly and approachable style”.
Val
RMN, RGN, MSc, NMP, ALSi, PILSi
Resuscitation Officer
Val began her career within the NHS as a Registered Mental Health Nurse prior to training as a General Nurse. Initially Val worked within the acute surgical speciality before moving into acute medicine.
Val studied for an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice to work as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in acute medicine in 2006. It was at this time Val became part of the cardiac arrest team and developed a passion for resuscitation and teaching.
Val currently works part-time as an ANP in a GP practice whilst continuing to teach resuscitation and has been part of our team for the last 5 years.
Val feels privileged to work with the dedicated professionals that are on the RCMS team.
Val said “I love being able to support the delivery of high quality resuscitation training and education”.
Nick
RODP, ALSi, EPALSi, GICi
Resuscitation Officer
Nick has been involved in teaching resuscitation since 1999, having qualified as an Operating Department Practitioner in London in 1997.
Nick has worked abroad and also been an instructor for the New Zealand Resuscitation Council before qualifying as a RCUK Instructor in 2006.
Nick has a real passion for team dynamics and performance in emergency situations and enjoys teaching wherever the opportunities take him.
Nick said “I feel privileged to be part of the RCMS team”.
Natalie
RGN, EMT2, ILSi
Resuscitation Trainer
Natalie qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2006 and has spent the majority of her nursing career working in community roles and palliative care. Natalie has also spent 7 years working as an Emergency Medical Technician with the ambulance service. Both of these roles have given Natalie a wealth of experience in assessing and managing the deteriorating patient and resuscitating patients in cardiac arrest.
Natalie said working with RCMS “has given me the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience by delivering high quality education and training. I feel proud to be able to empower our clients to deal with these emergency situations with confidence and competence”.
Steve
RN, ALSi, PILSi, GICi
Resuscitation Officer
Steve qualified as a Nurse in 2011 and spent 10 years in the Royal Air Force. He is a specialist in emergency care, and has been deployed to many hostile environments as an ED Nurse.
Steve has worked as a Resuscitation Officer in Surrey and Birmingham and most recently as Resuscitation Lead for a large NHS trust in the North West.
Steve is also qualified in aeromedical evacuation and is a Professional Nurse Advocate.
Rose
ODP, ALSi, BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care, Dip HE in Teaching
Resuscitation Officer
Rose qualified as an Operating Department Practitioner in 2000 and specialised in anaesthetics within all specialities and emergency care. Rose has always formed part of the cardiac arrest team and has many years’ experience in managing the deteriorating patient and resuscitation. Rose has a longstanding interest in resuscitation and became an ALS instructor in 2019.
Rose said “I am passionate about ensuring patients receive the best care and loves being able to pass on my knowledge and skills to others, so thoroughly enjoy being part of this great team at RCMS”.
Mandy B
RGN, DPSN, BMedSci, MMedSci (ACP), PGDip, NMP, ALSi, EPALSi
Resuscitation Officer
Mandy qualified as a Nurse in 1986 and worked throughout her career in acute medicine and critical care. As a Sister on the Coronary Care Unit, Mandy undertook ALS training in 1996 and eventually became an ALS Instructor (EPALS training and Instructor followed).
Mandy enjoys teaching health care professionals utilising her vast experience to develop the clinical staff of the future.
Mandy said “to save a persons life is a special gift. To teach someone else how to do it to a high standard, is a privilege and the reason I chose to work for RCMS”.
